I have just begun taking Budo Karate and learning the movements can sometimes be overwhelming. It was a delight that I found you on Youtube because you clarify things that have confused me.

    Thank you.

  3. Hello Sensei Walker
Just enjoying my first visit to this website,
WOW… lots of very cool ‘n’ creative Karate info, very nicely laid out in your usual professional, ‘easy to understand’ clear, neat manner.

I look forward to many visits perusing ‘the library’ and I look forward to your future plans for this site

Thank you, Sensei Walker (and all who are working with him) for the great site and the great videos. Can I purchase the “basics” videos as DVD(s)? I would love to have several copies to share with my students, the videos look to be very useful instructional tools.

    • Hi Matt,
Thanks for your comment. It’s actually just me maintaining the site and posting the videos. I am working on preparing some DVDs with the video content on them and should have them ready soon. I’ll be sure to let you know once I am ready to release them.

    Dear Paul,

I am practicing Karate since 2 years basically every day within the Germany affiliate of the Japanes JKA guided by H. Ochi
There have been two decisive additional impulses by the internet for me visualizing Kata training: one is supported by Angelo demonstration H. Nidan in slow motion:
The other is your very detailled demonstration of the Sochin. Thank you so much for this great gift. Although this kata is far beyond my current grade I have been practicing the Sochin ever since again and again guided by your instructions. This is a significant enhancement of my capabilities in karate for which I like to thank you honestly. So I will have to find out more about shotokan-seinsai.

By the way there´s an other Sochin weblink, more about bunkai applications:

thank you for the instructional videos. I did Jion for 10 years, bassai sho for another 10 years, niju shiho for 15 years and learned a lot from your videos. Still working out every day with weights and doing martial arts while watching the videos.

  17. Asghar Malik says:

    Hi Sensei Paul,
I have watched your you tube Videos and have found them very helpful with my continuing studies (san Dan) in Shotokan Karate, although I have a KUGB background it is not too different from what I am doing.
Could you please tell me if you intend to bring out a DVD on Kata with commentary?
My son has just past his yellow belt, I feel he would benefit from your instructions.
We are unable to fly over to your side of the pond, ( due to cost) but your explanations and executions are superb.
Please tell me where I could obtain your DVD, Sensei Kanazawa’s Kata DVD is good but you have shown some moves which can not be seen in his DVD.
